Thanks for visiting my wedding photography website!
Photography is my passion. My camera is a tool to take in all the beauty i see. I shoot weddings, portraits, events and just about everything in between in a style that is a mix of documentary + fine art. I believe a good photograph should have three things: great light, heart and genuine emotion. I strive to attain those three things in my pictures.
A little about me: I grew up in San Antonio and the ranch lands of West and South Texas.
Texas is home. I am currently living in Fort Davis.
I have been photographing professionally for over 10 years. I got my start photographing at Texas A&M University for the school paper, The Battalion. I went on to attain my Master's degree in Photojournalism from The University of Texas. During that time, I traveled all over Texas, California, New York and Costa Rica documenting my experiences with my 5d Canon camera.
Weddings are no exception, in the mix of friends and family I like to focus on the story, following the action while still looking for photographs. And I love weddings because I am inspired by LOVE, beautiful imagery, and humanity.
It is my hope that my work captures the essence of a couple and the families that bring them closer together. Connectivity is what draws me in to these moments.
Simple backgrounds, design, quotes, yoga, evening light, unposed moments —are just a few more things that inspire me. I shoot with both film and digital cameras. I love each for their own purpose—digital for its ability to capture candid moments and film for its aesthetic depth.
Nothing makes me happier in my work than to give couples images that they can keep + treasure whether it be in a folder on their hard drive or a box of prints on their coffee table or all of the above!
I hope by perusing this site, you'll get to know me better. You can see more of my work, on my commercial website, www.whitney-martin.com.
I will fly, bike, even ride a horse to be there for your big day. I do love to travel!
Enough about me. Please say hello and tell me about you asap. Let's meet for a cup of coffee too. This is such an important day and I would be honored to be part of it.
